Just as well Eric brought out the wah-wah for the final take cos that’s amazingly useless playing! I say this as someone who bought the single aged 14 and can sing along with the entire lead guitar part note for note. Here he sounds like he’s struggling to play something over a chord sequence that’s not a blues progression, with the wrong sound.
It’s funny with these box sets, it’s always interesting to hear the early takes but you only ever need to listen to them once.
Also, at less than £60, in the current escalation of box sets, reasonably priced.
