The new year has started and I have any kind of Christmas song in many languages, by so many different artists that I wonder if there isn’t somewhere a Joy Division Christmas album or KMFDM sings white Christmas laying somewhere, but I don’t have that much about new year’s Eve, maybe four songs, so, for the ones which are not sleeping yet, what would you play, 365 days later?
P.S.: My contribution is a singer from Quebec, la Bolduc, but any language is allowed, Bonne et heureuse Année 2018! Gott nytt år 2018!

If the rumours are to be believed, GH was often to be heard saying “Ding dong…”

There isn’t a Joy Division Christmas album but New Order did record a Christmas single (albeit a flexi-disc given away at a Xmas Eve party at the Hacienda in 1982)

Well, that was a surprise! I always thought that new order or kraftwerk would never do such a thing.

There’s only one New Year film and song. (not Christmas, forget the tree)
With added scenes of death and mayhem. And an Oscar winner!

There are two I play every year –
This lovely thing from Dan Fogelberg – cheesy to some but a good (true) story and the occasional great line:
And Dina Carroll, giving the vocal performance of her life – listen to how her voice swoops and soars at all the right places. The “dance one year in, kiss one goodbye” bit 2 1/2 minutes in to the song is one of my favourite bits of singing ever:
