I got this (I’m good at cryptic crosswords) – it’s HP Saucecraft isn’t it ?
If you accidently kneel on a bottle of open HP Sauce and then leave your trousers out in the sun, then they will be dyed a nice shade of brown. Sherlock Holmes, eat your heart out…..
I think I might have discovered why Christopher Guest chose Tufnell when he was looking for a name for a guitarist which, like Clapton, suggests a non-descript part of London. I was looking up something about Jeremy Corbyn’s constituency, which used to be called the Metropolitan Borough of Islington, and discovered its MP between 1937-50 was Leslie Haden-Guest. The constituency included the ward of Tufnell; Leslie Haden-Guest was Christopher Guest’s grandfather.
Dull fact revisited:
Christopher Guest has a hereditary peerage, and until 1999 had (on occasion) sat in the House Of Lords.
The Tufnell/Clapton idea holds water, and I’m sure I’ve read it somewhere too.
I always thought (believed) that the names Tufnell and St Hubbins were chosen because of Hubbins Rock Club and its nearest Tube Station being Tufnell Park.
Mere speculation on my part, but always made me chuckle when reading the Gig Ads in the back of Kerrang
Welcome “back” Harry! I think you have posted the most southernmost thing on this site – penguins in Antarctica, wasn’t it? Beat my previous record when I posted from Invercargill, NZ.
Wonder who the furthest north is? I know we have a few Scandinavians, for example.
Indeed, penguins from Antarctica, furthest north I’ve been is Svalbard although I’ve just returned from 2 weeks in Canada where I stayed at a lodge 60 miles north of Churchill. Didn’t post at either place because there was no internet.

No, not HP Saucecraft, Burt Bobbins.
Here’s a dull and useless “fact”.

I know, its Bob unflouncing! Anything to offer on the tedium of guitar based rock music?
Smartarsery aside, it’s a shame he hasn’t come back . Interesting perspective on things.
