  15. I have a rare syndrome. It is called forget a letter that has already been shown to be correct syndrome.
    Flares up periodically. Not life theeatening but EXTREMELY ANNOYING.

    • Not necessarily. WordleBot does it all the time, as does Hubes or the Baron, I forget which. And I, as of a couple of days ago. Good way of eliminating letters on the 2nd line, although 5 blacks can be a bit disappointing.

      • Not I, because I use hard mode if you get a correct letter (in the right or wrong place) you have to use it in the next word.
        It wouldn’t accept one of my words today as I’d missed out to use a letter which was correct.

        Though I will sometimes make the mistake of reusing a letter I’ve already eliminated.

  16. It’s a matter of honour to play the hard mode, anything else is simply bad form. “Good way of eliminating letters on the second line” – “Stewards, fetch the horsewhip”.

    It’ was the final lap and I was cynically tripped up on the first bend by Big Olaf. “Ha! Sucks to be you – loser!” he called back as he kicked into a faster pace. As I lay face down on the track, with boos ringing around the stadium, I saw the faces of former PE teachers, school bullies and clothes shop assistants braying with laughter, enjoying my misfortune. I saw my wife and children sitting in the crowd, looking deflated with their scarves, rosettes rattles and balloons. Their face paint flecked with tears…

    I tried to stand up and a kindly medic offered a hand to help me up. “NO!” I said “I have a race to win!” – I gave TWO thumbs up to my delighted family and, well, you can see what happened. It was a photo for first place between me and Big Olaf. They said the tip off my nose that made the difference but actually it was love that made me the winner on that day.

    • A schoolboy error contributed to an entirely underwhelming bogey.
