I hope people aren’t offended but I am going to set about some housekeeping on Facebook. Some people became friends coz I posted stuff on KFDs Afterword page that you needed to be a friend to see.
It will be those people I’ve had no contact with.
If I unfriend you but you’d like to maintain a Facebook relationship then drop me a line.

I unfriended the world. Deleted my account.
It.
Felt.
FABULOUS.
so you unfriended me before I unfriended you? …why you …you rotter.
Nothing personal old son. You are all equally beneath me.
With any luck.
hur hur hur
Considering the same thing but also liking to keep the FB thing going until this place is running smoothly. Much easier to keep track on there as well *winky face*
err may have unfriended you Beany as cant keep track of people and their nom de plumes
Yes, with one or two exceptions I’ve completely lost track of who’s who. Maybe we should have a roll call?
Never liked you anyway. What I meant is I am happy to read your postings on Afterburners on FB but don’t need to know what you think about UKIP or kippers for breakfast. The exception to the rule is Uncle Rob C who may not come back on here. I’m NOT offended AT ALL.
Junior had kippers for breakfast??? When did this shit happen?!?
*hastily restores FB account*
Well Rob C has just left Facebook , claims he is going to Ireland .West Cork area for a period – claims it’s definitely not a flounce but we all know better !!!
π
Re friending and who can see what I’m pretty hopeless at understanding the protocols. I accidentally send friend requests on a regular basis then, if the poor sod accepts, I have to live with them or go through the” politics of unfriending”. (TMFTL)
Too much for this small brain.
Is it my imagination or does that fellow ALWAYS seem to be flouncing?! Or, well, taking sabbaticals or realigning chakras or something…
A chap who lives largely on pakoras generally has to leave the yurt once in a while for his own good.
yes our Rob is a serial flouncer but to be fair he really wasn’t flouncing on Facebook just telling his friends on there he was out of the country for a while. I could have pointed out that I think they have the interweb in Ireland but whatever. As Moose noted a Facebook free world is a liberated world.
I’d be delighted if you didn’t unfriend me, Junior. But won’t be offended if you or anyone else does.
It’s an odd feeling going back to our pre-crash existence.
duly noted KFD!
As I said I have confined my acts of ostracism to those that I don’t think I’ve had exchanges with (another one there for you Moose)
The shocking thing about Facebook is discovering Moose is actually a 16-year-old girl from Manila…
Oh Meester Beany I ken mek you soo heppy.
What did you do with an ostrich?
Wish I’d joined Facebook now.
I have done the same because I want to get immersed in here rather than having FB sidebars as well. I spend too much time online.
I have really enjoyed getting to know people a bit better on Facebook but I entirely understand that not everyone wants to read the fine details of my dull domestic life, so for my part I would not be offended by any de-friending. But at the same time, very happy if people stay. π
Well, it wasn’t all bad missus π
Aw….;)
My main issue with using FB was actually technical. I have two ailing laptops and having FB open on either of them slowed everything to a crawl. It would therefore interfere with the really important work of the day – fiddling with the metadata in iTunes.
I only joined FB last December, and one of the prompts was the lifeboat that KFD set up. I’ve found it more enjoyable than I expected. It’s not a substitute for a site like this, but I find I’m liking it more than Twitter. I’ve sent out some friend requests to AW’ers – fairly random and I’ve tried to avoid carpet bombing.
I can see myself using both FB and this site albeit for different things. I’d be happy to stay in contact there with anyone from this site but I understand that some people won’t.
The dull details of Ruby’s domestic life are often hilarious. Same goes for Hannah and many others. I look forward to having those FB friendships with AWers as a very enjoyable complement to life here on the New Mothership.
The small details of life in the UK, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Italy, Cadoganshire etc certainly brighten up my life.
Tim Tunes and I chatted about the FB annex. I won’t close it down and you are welcome to post things there if you want. But I’ll be very conservative about accepting new members. The real party is here now. But if you want somewhere to go and chill, have a cig, listen to prog albums very loud, the doors are still open.
A useful complement to our new life here!
Pah. Not one of you bastards tried to friend me on FB. The fact that I barely use the thing is neither HERE nor THERE.
It does occur to me that even if I did have some friend requests, chances are I wouldn’t know. Does a klaxon go off when you log in or something?
Somebody sticks a maypole through your letterbox and yells, “how about it, love?”
Unfriend away, any of you, if you’ve a mind. I don’t take Facebook very seriously because I think it’s for kids really.
Besides that, I’m sure some of you must be a little tired of my entendres, photos of books and the noises from my colon that I like to report on.
And what would FB be without those distinctive Beezerian colonic rumbles? Eerily silent, I’m sure!
I was a but unstructured on FB and friended some people and not others, mainly if they reacted to something I did, so I’m all over the place. I left the FB group because I want this to be my gaff and I waste enough time on computers instead of doing something useful. But I know some AW FB friends seem to have been interested in the other crap I post so in theory I’ll unfriend those who I can see here anyway and stick those who seem to be a bit more engaged…assuming I can be arsed, which is always the problem.
