Whatever the merits of said publication, Afterworders stuck at home might want something to read. You can now subscribe for just £11.99 every 6-months via those nice people at BandLab. Less than £2 an issue and if the panic-buying gets any worse, you can always cut it into squares for the bathroom…

I have both Uncut and Mojo mailed to me here in Toronto every month. What a bargain they are. I think they are still a perfect monthly music related read. I have also been nightly working my way through the Afterword podcasts and what a joy they are. The interviews with Chris Difford and Thomas Dolby especially are wonderful.
This might be the moment to mention Readly yet again. For £7.99/month I get Uncut, Mojo and Q, as well as Commando, Viz, The Oldie, all the Mac and guitar mags, Wisden Cricket Monthly, and lots of dodgy gun and survivalist mags. Don’t ever get through them all, of course, and no use in the bathroom, but still…
Obviously there are those who prefer the reassuring thud of Uncut landing on the mat…
All that for £7.99? Wow! If I subscribed to all those magazines individually, I’d be broke in a month!
Can’t begin to understand the economics of it all, but not my problem. I read a lot of stuff I wouldn’t dream of buying in the newsagent, of course. Mags do occasionally come to their senses and disappear though.
Unfortunately, that same subscription is $50 over here (in the USA).
Are you sure you’re looking at the right thing? This page says $9.99 a month with the 1st 2 months free.

@mikethep
Would I be able read them on my iPhone do you think?
I have had a subscription to Uncut since the demise of Word. It has always been discounted to a sensible level, but not as sensible as the OP’s offer unfortunately.
The renewal was really high this year and never dropped, so I switched to Readly and now get the 5 or so mags I generally buy for a £7.99 all in.
Generally I prefer paper magazines, but I’m doing fine with Readly and can’t justify the extra cost now.
Cuts down the recycling burden for those of us who have no attics to keep them in, too.
Yes, I’ve cut down to just two physical magazines a month now so I get the rest of my ‘fix’ from the free downloads from the local libraries with RbDigital and PressReader. Not such a wide variety as Readly or PocketMags+ but I struggle to keep up with the ones I do download.
I get all the above on my Readly app. However, I have become a bit of a skimper and hardly read any of them apart from articles that are essential to me.
I find it interferes drastically with my book reading which is much more important to me.
Surely that’s the really good thing about something like Readly. It’s especially a good thing with technical magazines where you can treat them a little like websites, being able to read lots of reviews of the same thing. I get to read articles that I could never have justified buying the whole magazine for.

I’m like that. No concentration for magazines or newspapers but very happy to settle down with my latest book.
Yes, this.
I used to read physical magazines cover to cover. I tend to just read the bits I want now in more magazines in Readly.
The last challenge of converting to digital was the reading in the bath problem. Costco Ziploc bags have pretty much solved that, and are a decent enough fit for my iPad.
Going back to Coronovirus for a moment, it’s sad to see how many of the mags haven’t adjusted in time. BBC Music Mag has a whole supplement on this summer’s classical music festivals around the world, hundreds of them, and none of them are going to happen.
I imagine that a huge amount of the advertising revenue in mags like Mojo & Uncut is from live ads which presumably will look very different next month.
Production on magazines tends to be quite a long way ahead of publication. A month or two, usually. Some of them might be already long gone to the printers and distributors.
If they have a “latest news” page then that bit might be updated a week or two ahead. The rest is not feasibly changeable without missing their publication date by a mile.
New in this morning: Airfix Model World, Combat Aircraft and Hornby Magazine. That’s my childhood right there…I rest my case.
