I’m told.
Surely Jeremy Corbyn has the shortest record as party leader? Elected 10 days ago and he obviously resigned straight away. I mean, Theresa May has openly admitted she’s going to drive the economy into a brick wall, and he’s said nothing. And the bombing of Aleppo?
The real opposition? Anna Soubry, Sadiq Khan, and although it pains me to say it, George Osborne when Parliament starts again.
Not going to defend Corbyn, but he’s not alone in saying nothing on this but then he and Seamus are going to have work out how they can have a humanitarian foreign policy whilst simultaneously supporting Russia in their anti-imperialist adventures in Ukraine and Crimea. The West and particularly USA should have intervened and been stronger when they had the chance but they have left Russia with a free hand.
Maybe Sam Allardyce should stand as UKIP leader.

Despite their lack of success at parliamentary elections UKIP have achieved the sole aim of their party. Surely once article 50 is invoked surely they should say ‘job done’ and disband.
Exactly this, say what you like about Farage he had a vision and a dream and he went for it. On his own he got UKIP into a situation where the government of the day panicked and he got what he wanted. All the whingers and whiners from the main parties should take note and if they cared as much as they claim (looking at you Chuka) they should have the drive and will to try and match what Farage did. When you strip away everything else what is left is one of the most remarkable political achievements ever, as you say job done……

All the signs point to Nigel stepping into the breach, as if we hadn’t had enough already. Doesn’t change the fact that UKIP have no reason to continue to exist – just look at the rhetoric emanating from the Conservative Party conference. It pains me to say it, but Farage has won: welcome to a world of small-mindedness where anything “foreign” is greeted with suspicion, or worse, hostility. But in winning he’s achieved a certain pointlessness.
There doesn’t seem to be any point in UKIP anymore. Not when the Tories have so comprehensively driven their tanks on to UKIP’s lawn.
The point will be to speak for Labour’s heartland voters who have nowhere else to go now the former workers’ party alternates between failed socialist dogma and metropolitan sneering at people.
