Just like that. You can find both new songs on Spotify and probably other places too, possibly even a record store (I KNOW!) at some point.
Both Home Tonight and In A Hurry sound like they could have been on Egypt Station, which is good news.*
So what do you think? Good? Bad? Something in between? Nothing at all?
* Other opinions are most likely available
They were in fact recorded during the Egypt Station sessions. They are going to be released on picture disc next week for Black Friday/RSD (in the USA at least)
So they could literally have been on ES? I’m Chevy Chase and that’s news to me.
Astounding that he hasn’t created another £500 box set version of Egypt Station and included these in it on a wax cylinder or the like.
I love Macca but he really is milking his fans with all the different releases of ES:
1. 180g black vinyl concertina edition
2. 180g orange and blue coloured vinyl concertina edition
3. 140g black vinyl slipcase edition
4. Barnes and Noble red vinyl slipcase edition
5. Spotify green vinyl slipcase edition
6. Red band 16 track concertina cd
7. Green band 18 track concertina cd
8. Yellow cassette version
9. Deluxe Traveller’s Edition
10. Triple vinyl black Explorer’s edition
11. Magenta and purple vinyl Explorer’s edition
12. Double cd Explorer’s edition
Does the Red Band CD come with a packet of gaspers?
Physical release on a picture disc next week. The other Record Store Day,
Black Friday.
Record Store Day.
Picture Disc.
The David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole of the music business.
I agree re all the versions of ES. He probably needs the money.
Any opinions on the actual songs?
Pretty unremarkable fare.
He’s written/played/sung much better.
Heard In a Hurry on the radio (Beatles channel naturally). Thought it was ok. Haven’t heard the other one yet.
Bland tune.
He peaked in 1978.
Just a quick stop. Have been listening a lot to the two songs today. I really like them. The horns sound a bit like early Wings, which is good. Thumbs up.
