Well, he might.

Seriously – I don’t get this. Will someone please enlighten this old sailor.

I’m not sure there’s anything to get beyond the obvious. Once Hadie Mart had the idea I can’t see anything worth the effort of carrying it out.

That Ovid was a lad, eh?

I’m in bed with Jack, any port in a storm, and we have discussed this thread extensively. Our collective response is “I think I might be Japanese”…
24/08/2018 at 20:00
Jack, exhausted and covered in the salty tears of a salty dog, has pointed out I omitted the word “turning”. I must just add that he certainly knows his ropes..
Just string the first word of each tweet together, and you will begin to recognise the words of a popular song (you might have to click through to the actual Twitter page to read it all).
The idea of someone spending four months to produce something as simultaneously pointless and brilliant as this tickles me immensely.

Really? I say really? Me and Jack are going back to our love-making…
24/08/2018 at 19:44
Yes, I’m sure we all saw that. And that’s it? Nothing we’re missing here? Something clever, amusing or entertaining perhaps? No?
24/08/2018 at 20:46
Yes, but why?

I’m assuming at some point he will have to make a comment about the Meryl Streep/Julie Walters/Pierce Brosnan film

That’s the second time today I’ve seen this kind of thing. Either they both know each other, or this is a remarkable coincidence.

steam engine time!
24/08/2018 at 20:04
Jack , his mainsail still fully erect despite the battering it has received, has wandered off for something he calls a small tot. Before he left he asked me to enquire “What the fuck does Steam Engine Time mean??
24/08/2018 at 20:40
It’s a term popularised by William Gibson referring to the idea of technological determinism or simultaneous independent invention. When the conditions and precursors are right, things tend to be discovered or invented in very close temporal but not physical proximity. See also the theory of evolution, sunspots, the law of conservation of energy, etc etc

Chiz is too modest (as always!) to mention this, but if you take the first letter of every one of his comments, dating from 2014 (when he was both Captain Underpants and Burt Kocain), they spell out Kant’s Critique Of Pure Reason.
25/08/2018 at 12:22
Well, not quite. I got a bit muddled halfway through ‘Refutation of the ontological proof of God’s existence of Anselm of Canterbury’ and accidentally disproved the existence of Faux Geordie instead
25/08/2018 at 13:22
I did that too.
Thing is, you can accomodate an infinite number of typewriters provided you build an infinite number of extensions to your home, but the problem is no retailer will deliver an infinite number of bananas.
At least, not this far out of town.

“Yes! We Have Some!- The Story Of Fyffe’s” is an actual book.
