Firstly, let me say that as much as I’ve admired DF over the years, and The Nightfly was and remains my favourite album by anyone ever, I’m not wholly surprised to find that he may be less than a wonderful person.
With that said, now for another cheap pun at his expense:

Libby Titus (the person who Donald Fagen is accused of assaulting) was also at one time attached to Dr John. He recorded a lovely tune dedicated to her – “Pretty Libby” is on his album “The Brightest Smile In Town”, which is a kind of companion album to the more well known “Dr John plays Mac Rebennack” – both are Dr John playing solo piano and completely wonderful albums.
“Pretty Libby” by Dr J isn’t on YouTube but here’s another piece he wrote for another woman in his life – “Dorothy” – his mother. Or in American, his Mom.
Lovely stuff. Wish I could play with such relaxation…
