You are kidding, right? Boomers doing — let’s face it — boring boomer songs (Satisfation? Yawn) is not what the world is short of. Not what of which the world is short.
Improved life expectancy. Better anaesthetic for dental treatment. Better social mobility (for a while, at least). Less social prejudice (until 2016).
But apart from that, why would anyone?
Suffice to say, Toyah can’t believe her luck with Covid-19 and can’t fault her ability with a captive audience with literally nowhere to go.
I listened to her on the Rockonteurs Podcast that Gary Kemp and Guy Pratt do recently where she spoke about some unspeakable horror related to her mother and her childhood but she couldn’t go into to too much detail – not because of the emotional trauma it would unearth…but because she’s making a film about it.
Talking about rock band merchandise, I see that the huge Grateful Dead merchandising operation has got together with Selfridges Garden Centre to offer you an exciting range of Dead-related gardening products. These items are so thrilling that it’s hard to pick just one to show you, but I must say I rather like the Grateful Dead gardening gloves. Ideal for … ahem … deadheading….
Toyah has always been absolutely insufferable IMO.
A testament to the perspiration over inspiration notion, if ever there was one.
The thickest of skins & a refusal to be shoved out of the limelight, a kind of drama school Robocop.
Good luck to her & Fripp, & to those who’ve been entertained by their copper pans & their version excursions but it’s not for me.
Not remotely surprised that there’s now Merch available & can’t help suspect that was quite likely her intention all along. She’s probably got a range of branded ‘Toyah Chapel Hat Pegs’ in the pipeline. Roll up, roll up!
Mrs F has the Archers omnibus currently playing in the kicthen. Toyah’s just bought a chaffinch-inspired vase/sculpture from William Grundy at the Ambridge fete.
Will Mrs Fripp be banging out copies and flogging them online, do you think?
Apologies – forgot the link…easy enough to work out, I suppose…
https://toyahandrobert.com/
I misread Fripp’s handwritten aphorism as
“Music is the cup that holds the brine of silence”.
The Brine of Silence sounds like a 29CD Crimso live album…
Do you do your own pickling, Moose? Buy Fripp-Brand “Brine of Silence” for a quieter pickling experience…
I tend to dip my gherkin in vinegar. Silence does not reign thereafter.
I’d pay good money for “Hands that chop chillis should never touch willies” in Fripp’s (rather beautiful) handwriting actually
Those videos get on my tits.
Er….
You are kidding, right? Boomers doing — let’s face it — boring boomer songs (Satisfation? Yawn) is not what the world is short of. Not what of which the world is short.
I don’t think the boring boomer songs are for sale…good to see you’re keeping your sense of humour, though…
They are the vehicle that is selling the merchandise though, right?
And thanks man, what am I without my sparkling wit, after all?
No.
Confess I assumed he had developed dementia during the pandemic but this has just been released:
Funny you should mention that.
I was going to cough up for a pair of comedy breasts, but unfortunately Gazza got the last one in my size.
“Au contraire, Blackadder….”
Also available
Scammel Wheel Nuts
Chapel Hat Pegs
I think we pretended these clips were a bit saucy and fun but then realised they weren’t either of those things. 😳
As the Producers is on real telly tonight, I realise that Toyah in these videos reminds me of LSD doing his Power of a Flower audition…
The “boomer” tag is mad.
1946 to 1964… the same generation!
Robert Fripp to Fat-Boy Johnson.
Would anyone sane want to have been born in 1964 when they could have been 18 in 1964?
The answer to that question is “no.”
Last time I fact-checked, you don’t get a choice of when you’re born.
Not the first time, anyway.
You’re engaging with him as if he’s a real person! How adorable!
God no. Why would anyone?
Improved life expectancy. Better anaesthetic for dental treatment. Better social mobility (for a while, at least). Less social prejudice (until 2016).
But apart from that, why would anyone?
Longer life expectancy means more chance of seeing those videos. I’ll keep my current life expectancy thanks.

Out on the road today
I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Qualcast 35S
The know a lot about grass though…

Infinite ups for “drama school Robocop”.
“20 seconds to comply… what I did for loooooooove!”

I’m guessing not – mainly on the basis that the vase is fictional. I stand to be corrected, as usual…
Well, if people are prepared to fork out for NFTs…
Good point – we could re-christen them FNFTs…
Fake chaffinch, fake tits.
Mumble, mumble, something about Choughs and Tits.
Next you’ll be telling me it isn’t a documentary.
