Probably not news to those who subscribe, but an interesting interview with Todd Rundgren on WTF last week. Has his potted version of the XTC production story, production in general (incl. Bat Out of Hell), and even name-checks Mahavishnu Orchestra (@colin-h).
The Dweezil Zappa episode earlier in the month was pretty good too.

Sounds interesting. I presume that this is the interview that an upset Andy Partridge was tweeting about.
I’ve now subscribed to WTF. Thanks Harold.
A couple of weeks ago the guest on WTF was Dweezil Zappa.
Marc Maron neatly skirted around any awkward questions relating to Gail’s demise and the rift between the family, leading up to the selling of the house and tape archive.
Also not mentioned was last year’s brief fling between Marc and Moon Zappa.
But it was still a great listen for all that.
I adore (some, mainly early) TR stuff so this is right up my strasse.
Thankee!
Just listened to this episode of WTF and highly recommend it.
Lots of juicy stuff about The Band (Todd was a junior engineer on Stage Fright), Albert Grossman and the Bearsville label.
Best of all though is the inside story on Bat Out Of Hell. Bearsville had first option and foolishly turned it down, as did every other label except the tiny Cleveland International Records label. And even then it didn’t take off until the third single from the album.
Todd claims he got such a good cut as producer (thanks to Grossman’s strong arm legal tactics) that he ended up making more than Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman combined.
Todd says he didn’t know what to make of Bat Out Of Hell at first, thinking it was some kind of Springsteen pastiche. Ironically, a number of the E. Street band ended up playing on the album.
This WTF is well worth an hour of your time.
