Here’s a variation on the Tiny Quiz, since it’s a Bank Holiday weekend.
You know the Ultimate Music Guide specials which Uncut produce?
One of the standard items is a “top 30” tracks, as voted for by stars, journalists, fans and personalities.
Here’s a quote from a musician, describing his or her favourite track by another musician.
Who is giving the quote?
Who is the quote about?
What is the track being described?
“…it has soulfulness too, but it’s mutating into something else. Listening to it now, it reminds me of something by Van der Graaf Generator. There’s prog-ness about it, but it has a real energy and drive. Christ knows what (…)’s singing about…”

I knew I’d forgotten something…

I’m not going to participate because I know the answer.
Interesting choice of reading, fits. 😀
Very noble of you, Tiggs!
Hey what, hold on a darn minute! How come he gets a “noble” while I get a “disappointed”? We both know the answer, neither of us has revealed it. Pure discrimination. I didn’t choose to be handsome and I don’t see why I should be punished for it.
Good point.
Tiggs: for avoidance of doubt – did you already know the answer; or did you resort to Google?
Let’s say we have some common interests… I possess the Ultimate Music Guide your OP is based on.
Cheat! Outrageous! Should be banned from participating in any further quizzes, imho.
I just cheated and googled it. I’ve cheated and googled every quiz so far, but with no results until now. Frankly, I think it was much better when I couldn’t find the answer via google. Being able to google the answer just spoils the game for people like myself who are determined to cheat.
I admire your tenacity. After trying and failing the previous three occasions, you try yet again. I’d have given up cheating well before now.
I had a feeling that this one might have been easier than previous examples.
Googling/cheating, though – I always thought it was an honour thing?
I remain disappointed…
Well exactly. And the worst thing is, I fully intend to cheat in the next one too. I already feel a sort of pre-disappointment in myself just at the thought of it.
Is it Lulu talking about Paul Young’s No Parlez

Wonder if this quiz is a step too far?
Perhaps I should stick to Wordle.
Don’t get me wrong, Chesh – the image of Uncle Herbert commenting on Cardiacs is a gem!
I always wanted to see this as a film, Sid James in the title rôle.
Kate Bush?
Soz – too busy creating content for my oh-so-humorous meme thread!
Time to put this one out of its misery, I think…
Who is giving the quote? Stephen Morris, drummer out of The New Orders
Who is the quote about? David Bowie
What is the track being described? Station to Station
For the record, I read the magazine just a couple of weeks ago.
Spooky! What were the odds?
