I have shared this with Judy Dyble on Facebook as she was one of the proponents of onstage knitting with Fairport Convention.

It led me to the discovery that Batman’s adversary, Bane, is modelled on Madame Defarge, the tricoteuse in Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, He even does some needlework.
