Black issues are a central factor for about 15 per cent of the population, the rest don’t really give a shit because it never touches their lives in a serious way.
There are times particularly near the end where it threatens to descend into almost a MLK parody but Obama’s great strength is public speaking and he has a gift for oratory unparalleled since perhaps JFK. Almost an anachronistic skill in a digitally mediated world.

This is where Barack Obama is at his finest, uniting a nation with vision and hope and drawing on the oratorical tradition of the Black church.
