People with no interest in cricket are best avoided, in my experience. It’s reasonable to take no notice of other sports, but cricket is right up there with music and sex.
So, at least 70% of the music obsessive correspondents on here don’t like sport? Next you will be telling me that the typical Afterworder is male, (well) over 50, slightly overweight and is still a virgin
He was reckoned to be a useful bowler in the annual post-Cropredy cricket match. Oh, and Tahir? Probably lack of exposure in childhood (I’m Scottish) and deciding life was too short by the time I took any notice.
Anyway, I am practically levitating with anticipation for tonight’s show.
I kinda wished I’d gone to Cropedy but it always clashed, ironically, with the start of the football/rugby season.
One thing – the “post-Cropedy cricket match” you mention – wow – if you can’t get completely pissed on Old Wallop watching that, you’re not really trying!
Sounds like paradise.
Thanks for that, Lodey. Looking forward to Hube’s review of the concert. Would love to be going but too many shellfish to eat here in Scotland’s south east. As for sport? To me, as for many enthusiasts, it is a religion. And I am an atheist.
He was once the special guest on View From The Boundary on TMS and played 1952 Vincent Black Lightning which was posted on the TMS webpage or similar. It must have been a tour by India as you could see either Dravid or Ganguly (I can’t remember which) who was guest commentating looking on in complete awe.

Aren’t most people cricket fans? If not why not, I’d like to know.

There is no sport that interests me. Not ball games, motor sport, athletics. None.

High five, dave. I’m the same.
I maybe confess to occasionally getting interested when snooker comes on the telly, but that’s the closest to sport I get.
I also quite like the Rocky movies. So that’s a sporty interest.

Same here. With the exception of mini golf, which is ace.
