I’m just putting this here quickly, as I am about to rush off somewhere.
This morning, Katie Spencer has put out another track – the fourth and final instalment – from her forthcoming new album, and it’s a heartfelt personal reflection upon her own early life. If you value great acoustic music with depth and an exquisitely tender delivery, this will light up your morning.
The album is due next month, and you can pre-order it now if it pleases.

There is a nice wee video of her playing it, premiered over at At The Barrier, which, as I didn’t write it, I have no qualms about linking to it:

Exquisite, very personal song with a gorgeous arrangement.
Thanks for putting it on the AW map, Vulpes.
That’s lovely. I’m a fan of Katie and have seen her many times, mostly at Costa Festivals but also earlier this year at Port Fairy Folk Festival way down under. I was not aware that she had been adopted.
Unless it’s my speakers (that’s possible), the Bandcamp track’s mix seems a bit iffy. Vocal is too far back and a little foggy.
I like Katie Spencer but I couldn’t listen beyond a minute or so.
