@carl be good to see your workings. I checked Twitter, no #lateromankings trending, nothing on my Facebook post from Buzzfeed ‘You wont’t believe the Kings that everybody is talking about’. Eddie Mair ignored the topic on PM tonight. So can conclude that not everybody is talking about the Late Roman Kings.
Just a guess, but I suspect a lot of people who live outside the law are not all that honest. Living outside the law is probably a really poor indicator of honesty. “Are you an outlaw?” “Yes.” “Okay, can you hold my purse a minute?”
“The number one contender for the middleweight crown
Had no idea what kinda shit was about to go down”
So sings Dylan describing boxer Rubin “Hurricane” Carter.
In fact, according to the May 1966 issue of The Ring magazine, Carter was ranked ninth around the time of his arrest and had never been ranked higher than third.
‘Now the beach is deserted except for some kelp’ [Sara]
To be honest, Bob, I still think that makes the beach deserted. Seaweed doesn’t count as a ‘presence’ in the context of a beach, even if it does provide a useful rhyme for ‘help’.
He’s very irresponsible with his “must”s. If everybody gets stoned in either the drugs or Sharia sense, society will break down completely.
Similarly, I don’t see at all why it must be Santa. I’ve also got a big red nose, have been known to go ho-ho-ho and have a “special night” once a year. “It” could equally be me.
“Times They Are A-Changin'”…..correct in 1964.
However, as at 2016, with little social mobility, and the white/male/Eton/Oxbridge template in Westminster as prevalent as it has ever been……nah.
Ha! Go on then. It was actually William Zantzinger’s son, who had, incredibly, been named after his father (and possibly grandfather – his full name was William Zantzinger II or III). He used to work in London as a trader for one of the larger US investment banks and I looked after elements of his personal finances for a couple of years.
I can still remember first coming across his name in a filing cabinet – it really chilled me. Of course, nobody I worked with would have had the tiniest inkling as to the name’s significance. But I was as close to dumbfounded as I’ve ever been.
He goes by the name “Willie” these days and helps non-profit businesses invest their money I believe.
I’ve often thought that Tom Petty’s pre-fame, now reunited Mudcrutch is possibly one of the least appealing band names ever. Or does it have some hidden Southern meaning (I bet it does) that makes it sound like Roxy Music to Floridians
According to Mr Dylan on his latest Theme Time about whisky, people are probably listening to the programme on a smart toaster.
Allison Janney ‘phones’ in to say she’s listening on her smart toaster.
Moosey have you a smart toaster too?
The obvious one the comes from the very beginning:
“The answer, my friend is blowing in the wind”.

Windy day – look around.
Not one answer to be found
To the question
Is Bob My friend?
As I said Hey Mate
Evil eye he’d send.

And he wasn’t falsely tried.
But maybe the actual number one contender knew nowt..?

ha ha
Bob obviously needing an “elp” word.
Classic example of how ,so often, the narrative is driven by his need for a rhyme and then everyone goes whoa that’s deep.
The movement you need is on your – um….
Except for a whelp would have been better.
Wait a dang minute: you’re talking about the effing Nobel Prize winner for literature there!

I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now. You reckon Bob?

In this room the heat pipes just cough
…you sure about that Bobby?
“Everybody must get stoned.”
Not the driver of my bus tomorrow, Bob. I’d rather he kept a clear head. I expect his other passengers would too.
He’s very irresponsible with his “must”s. If everybody gets stoned in either the drugs or Sharia sense, society will break down completely.

It does not take a lot to laugh.
But it does take a train to cry.
No, it takes a rail replacement bus service to cry.
And another thing – he’s never been on the bloody Mayflower IN HIS LIFE.

The bridge that you travel on goes to the Babylon girl with the rose in her hair.
I’ve travelled on an awful lot of bridges and I haven’t seen her once. I’m sure I’d have noticed. Anyone else? No, thought not.
Barcelona 4 Man City 0. Right now I can’t read no good.
As usual Bob is right….
“Yet ev’ry distance is not near”
Actually, the distance to the corner shop is quite short. what’s your point, Bobby?
William Zantzinger was not, in fact, charged with first degree murder over the death of Hattie Carroll.
…and Bob didn’t even get his name right in the song.
True story: I once took care of significant aspects of William Zantzinger’s finances.
You might need to expand on that Bart

On a slightly different tangent, this is quite amusing

“Ain’t nobody there would want to marry your sister”.
I don’t even got me no sister. Dang fool.
Actually, the record shows that you did ask for my crutch.
I think that’s what you said.
Is a crutch “hotter than a crotch”? I’ve often wondered.
I’ve often thought that Tom Petty’s pre-fame, now reunited Mudcrutch is possibly one of the least appealing band names ever. Or does it have some hidden Southern meaning (I bet it does) that makes it sound like Roxy Music to Floridians
He said everything is broken, but my toaster seems perfectly fine.
But everything is. Just look at the world!
Fuck the world. I’ve got toast.
According to Mr Dylan on his latest Theme Time about whisky, people are probably listening to the programme on a smart toaster.
Allison Janney ‘phones’ in to say she’s listening on her smart toaster.
Moosey have you a smart toaster too?
My toaster plays no music, unless that very faint humming sound is an early Kluster track.
