I don’t normally post stuff like this but my wonderful out-of-this-world wife has just had these two delivered for my 50th next month. Wow! But I’m not allowed to open them yet!

Oh man, I am properly jealous!
You are a very lucky man. Happy birthday!
Taschen’s books are something else aren’t they. I’ve bought about a dozen of them over the past year or so. The James Bond one, the Ali one and the Stones one are just incredible. I’d also recommend the one on Film Noir, the Godfather one, the Hubble Telescope images one and the City series (London, New York, Paris, LA and Berlin). If you think you might like one of them just go ahead and buy it, because you won’t be disappointed. You’ll need some room on your bookshelf though.
Paul Levitz has actually started expanding the DC one by splitting it into 5 ‘smaller’ versions. I say smaller, as the two released so far are still bigger than almost all the other books I own. He released the Golden Age and Silver Age ones a few years ago, but the others keep getting put back and Taschen haven’t yet been able to confirm when they will be coming out. In the meantime I have my eye on the one you have just got, just in case the other ones never appear. Very expensive to pick up on eBay though, if just for the postage costs. It probably weighs more than my kids!
The Bronze Age one seems to have release date of 15th Oct on Amazon US.
Good stuff, ip 33.
Mmmmm …. Taschen books are terrific. Lovingly put together.
I’ve got one called “Jazz Covers”, which is, well, beautifully reproduced printed of classic jazz album covers, mainly from the 60s and 70s.
It’s highly recommnded to all fans of jazz cover artwork.
That’s funny, Moose has the one called “Jazz mags”.
I wouldn’t trust the Amazon dates, I’m afraid, as it’s been changing for the past couple of years. It’s still down as May 28th this year on the Amazon UK website. Would be a shame if they don’t finish them off.
