Doesn’t hit Bristol till next week, but I’ll definitely be going to see it. The way our local art cinema handles the dubbing issue on child friendly foreign animations is to show a dubbed version in the afternoon (on school holidays and weekends) and then subtitled in the evening.
I’m interested to know if anyone else has seen this and what they thought. Visually, it was beautiful in parts but occasionally, it looked as though someone else had taken over drawing for a while. I also felt that the story was a bit thin to be two hours or so long. I saw Mark Kermode saying that he felt it would come to be seen as a masterpiece but I’m not sure I would agree.
Anyone else have an opinion?
Anything from Ghibli is worth a try in my book.

I’d be surprised if it was dubbed, but it depends how its being marketed in the UK. Is IMDB any help on that?

Saw the dubbed version on Saturday. Sorry but dissapointing to me and my eleven year old Ghibli fanatic daughter. OOAA
