He has an extraordinary, very expressive and very androgynous voice. And what a remarkable life story.
After being Little Jimmy Scott for the early part of his career, at the age of 37, he grew an extra 8 inches!
And he does the best version of this song.
I hope Prince has now been able to thank him, despite his dislike of covers
Saw him at Ronnie Scott’s around 96/97. It was a great performance. Extraordinary ability to go from light to shade in one thrilling swoop. Wonderful singer. Amazing life.
