Bamber on Irish rockers the Strypes have called it a day.
Sad news today that the Strypes, the very young Irish answer to Dr. Feelgood are packing it in. A band out of sync with the times perhaps but absolutely phenomenal live. I’ve long reckoned that guitarist Josh McClorey has the makings of a proper guitar hero. Now we’ll find out. Here’s their first appearance on Irish TV.
Really sad to hear this. Saw them earlyish on and just last summer and they blew the roof off on both occasions.

Having watched the Julian Temple film about them a few years ago, I’m on,y surprised it’s taken this long for them to part company.
The guitarist seemed to be in a very different place to the rest of them and have a separate vision of the band’s future sound.
