The big movie here in Sweden at the moment is The Circle about a group of Swedish teenage witches. I mentioned it previously over at the FB Terrapin Hut. Benny Andersson both produced and did the music. Mrs KFD, who does not enjoy horror movies, has seen it and it got a big thumbs up.
So, of course, I was interested to read this piece about the rise of witchcraft among young feminists.

It sounds a bit wacky but it’s an interesting sign of the times and shouldn’t just be laughed off. Stop that sniggering at the back there!
Two questions.
Has witchcraft made an appearance here on the AW? Anybody noticed dried toads lying around? Graffiti of broomsticks in the loos? Naked lasses dancing round toadstools at midnight?
And now of course, I’d like to know: Which is your favourite witch?
My girlfriend of course

Doesn’t surprise me, Tim! You are a bit of a wizard yourselfwhen it comes to thread writing!
Too kind – and from The Sorceror himself!
This doc looks interesting – the fascination (possibly just slightly driven by titillation) endures.
A tuneful witchy ditty.

There would appear to be magical events afoot.
Those who know him will be interested to hear that I got a message from that Master of Mystery, Rod C. Despite the fact that he is no longer with us, he knew that we were talking about witches. I suspect that a rogue owl put him in the picture.
At midnight, who knows what may happen on this thread.
I miss Mr C and his cauldron, not to mention his coven of buxom acolytes.
He will realise that while he can check out any time, he can never leave. Mwah-hah-hah…
Are Eagles allowed in our new home?
Every Which Way But Loose
Any Which Way You Can
Personally, I think the second film is the better of the two.
Witches?
“You’re an Angel Witch, You’re an Angel Witch”
I’m sure witches have as much contact with Eagles as with owls.
Interestingly my son is scared shitless of witches. I suspect it was a film he saw when a toddler.
Either that or he heard me talking about Thatcher..
She’d rather be burned as a witch than never be burned at all.
Dear old Eartha, inventor of the Croydon Facelift.
Klaus Nomi celebrates.
I think the theme tune to 80’s kids tv show “simon and the witch” is at least partially responsible for getting me in to reggae…
If we’re playing Youtube links to witchy songs then I win
the positioning of that play arrow is a bit unfortunate Gatz !
Like the one on the Bird and the Bee upthread..You wonder if it’s deliberate.
Posted this before for Rob C appropriate for here I thought.
Before the crash, I did this list of witchy songs on Spotify. I’ve just added the latest suggestions.

Back to favourite witch, I suspect I had something of a schoolboy crush on Samantha in Bewitched.
Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent is a primeexample of the re-booted image we have of witches in 2015.
She looks like she’d be more at home as the singer in a Goth band than in a Disney movie.
Still my favourite two witches:
Nice one! There ought to be a lot more Buffy on this site!
By all means start the thread, KFD. I know there are a lot of fans around here. The Light was skeptical, but I persuaded her to try it and we’ve just finished season 2 (first time round for her, second for me.)
