Clearly in an effort to detract from the hamper availing my posts confer, here’s a little combo I have just chanced upon, one that might appeal here, thinking of @niallb amongst others.
Allman Betts Band, with the sons of Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts and Berry Oakley. And a decent racket they make too. Devon Allman has a track record with his own band and with the Royal Southern Brotherhood, his earlier amalgam of the Allman/Neville bros family trees, and the boy Betts, confusingly (if understandably) called Duane, has been live guitarist with Dawes in recent years.
What price they mysteriously somewhere/sometime appear on a bill with Tedeschi-Trucks Band and make a surprise coalescence?

Gordon Bennett, do they really look like that?
Have these people absolutely no single atom of self-awareness? They look like the imaginary rock stars a particularly culturally deprived 12 year old might idly sketch in blue biro on the cover of their Maths exercise book during a particularly draining double Chemistry lesson.

I can only hope their music isn’t as sadly predictable.
After a quick listen I’m glad to say that I think they cut the mustard just fine – they still have a few stumbles to iron out, and they need to be careful not to make every song go on just a little bit too long.
FWIW I hope they plough this furrow long enough to mature and mellow that glorious baked-in fluidity that made Brothers & Sisters such an unalloyed joy.
And I still think they need to get better personal stylists, or at least learn to shop somewhere else as well as KMart or Dickies…
Thanks for the tip retro but I can’t get any sound on it. Tried on 3 bits of kit but, nada.
I have looked at Youtube and found them doing In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. It sounds great but I’d need to hear some original material before making a judgement – otherwise they might just as well be an Allmans tribute band.
The sound seems to start emerging around 50 seconds in. Weird!
