Hopefully all Smiths fans will have taken advantage of the Amazon offer so that anyone attempting to make money on these will be left out of luck and out of pocket.
Hear hear. I agree with you Baron.
Saw rows and rows of these in HMV. Is it not selling?
They fucked about with the artwork dint they? It’s not as if Smiths fans, of all people, don’t care about such matters.
I did see sales figures for the first week, it sold about 10,000 copies, IIRC. It came out the same week as the George Michael, which did much better.
TQID is my fave Smiths album, and one of my fave albums full stop, but even I waited until the price came down before I coughed up. I already have too many boxes on the shelf to be listened to.
Just got the 2 disc version for a cheap price. Pretty shoddy packaging, no notes on how it was made, critiques etc. Just the lyrics. Haven’t listened to bonus disc yet but not expecting anything revelatory.
Thanks for the heads up – almost bought the vinyl edition for £65 before Christmas, so very pleased to get it for £33!
Just unpacked and played the 5 lp set. It’s a thing of real beauty – well worth £33, for anybody who is tempted.
