Let’s revisit “Back for Good” by ver ‘That.
What a kind voice Gary has! What a caring, sensitive song about reconciliation, understanding and forgiveness. Well…look a little closer at the kidney punches he lands under the guise of sensitivity:
“In the twist of separation
You excelled at being free…”
“Whatever I said, whatever I did
I didn’t mean it – I just want you back for good”
“Whatever – I’m wrong – just tell me the song
and I’ll sing it, you’ll be right and understood”
“I guess, now it’s time
That you came back for good”
Even though she’s been shagging around since they broke up, he wants her back. He can’t be bothered to understand why he might have been wrong in the past. For a quiet life, he promises that he’ll just agree to whatever.
Bit of a tough haul to be honest but sticking with it, getting there, staying positive, reading a lot, listening to a lot of music, and doing a lot of mantra, which is a great help. Next phase of treatment starting in a couuple of weeks and by the summer I’ll be fit and well again, and bopping the leys fantastic. I hope all is well with you Fitter.
Handy beginners tip: when starting out, especially with longer mantras, write them clearly in large-ish capital lettering (black felt tip is ideal) and use a correct pronunciation phonetics if needed as well, on a sheet of A4. You can read and chant at the same time as doing your japa rounds. Pretty soon it becomes memorised and flows naturally!
I really must check out Greenslade on Spotify. Your avatar keeps reminding me. I’ve heard of them of course, but I’m not familiar with their actual output. I reckon they’ll do very nicely in my sonic wanderings.

No, seriously, don’t waste a nanosecond of your oh-so- precious time on this thread, it’s of no importance. Really.
(video not quite so heavy on the Uma)

Junior Wells says
Not too much passivity there
Blue Boy says
This one perhaps?
Sniffity says
I may or may not find this annoying.
Just saying.
fitterstoke says
Whatever…
Vincent says
Some people probably think this is clever.
Rob_C says
OI! Do you like f*****g ashram food, mush? Fancy a knuckle ciabatta, or what?!
Peace and Love.
Rigid Digit says
This could be a really enjoyable You Tube fest. No clogging up of bandwidth, slow loading pages, or anything.
Moose the Mooche says
That’s if people contribute, which they don’t have to of course. It’s entirely up to them.
Uncle Wheaty says
They may not want to because it was you that started it. Just saying.
Moose the Mooche says
Oh, okay. thanks for telling me. That’s…. really helpful to know.
fitterstoke says
Some people don’t know the difference between passive-aggression and sarcasm…
Just sayin’…

Similarly Billy Joel – Just The Way You Are:
I don’t want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are
Moose the Mooche says
He doesn’t address the central problem: He’s Gary Barlow.
Gatz says
A passive aggressive thread? Well, if you think that will make you happy …
Moose the Mooche says
Oh, being happy is far too much to expect.
Rob_C says
Hmmm…….
Moose the Mooche says
I prefer The Zen Hack’s early demos.
Rob_C says
I’m more of a Chuang Tzu groover, Mooseji.

(Non passive-aggressive interlude)
How y’ doing, Rob?
Moose the Mooche says
Oh yes, let’s hear about Rob. Don’t ask about how I’m feeling, whatever you do.
Rob_C says
MAN HUG TIME.
Come here. Feel the lurve, Moosey. Lemme stroke your antler moss. Alright. Yeah… OW! COME ON BABY!
Moose the Mooche says
Well thanks Rob, I’m fine really. Honestly I am.
Rob_C says
You sure? Cool. If you ever need to comb some baby otters, just shout, ok?
Moose the Mooche says
Well I normally use a brush, but you’re clearly more progressive.
Rob_C says
I use my very own patented Rob C’s Accu-P-Comb, made from moon kissed hazel wood and atlantean sea urchin spines. Just the etheric ticket, dear heart.
Moose the Mooche says
You spoil those wee otterlets rotten. They’ll be wanting X-Boxes next.
Rob_C says
I can’t wait for the communal isolation tank to arrive. Drop a couple of magick pakoras, googles on, and it’s showtime!
fitterstoke says
Get a room, you two…wot yer like?

Good to hear Rob (not passive-aggresive) either
Moose the Mooche says
Yes it is. I think this is The Active Kindness Sub-thread. I feel I should post something by Lorraine Kelly, but she hasn’t made any records.
Yet.
fitterstoke says
This might be a step in the right direction…
Rob_C says
Cheers Hubes. Good vibes in return.
fitterstoke says
Sounds like a plan, Rob (positivity, reading, music, mantra) – I’m glad it’s working for you. All best wishes.

I gotcha! (After a Google).

Cool thread bro

“Look, love. Try to see it my way, or I’m effing off. Got that through that pretty little head of yours?”

This is the best passive-aggressive song I know!

Very enjoyable thread, Moose.
How about a little Malicious Compliance?? (following orders to the letter leading to negative consequences).
What a perfect name for a band! I’d buy their LP on the basis of their moniker alone!
