… it’s quite, ah, ‘forceful’, isn’t it?
15/04/2020 at 22:10
Hey, @mc-escher, let’s get this ball rolling!
15/04/2020 at 22:12
Ain’t no stoppin’ us now!
15/04/2020 at 22:17
Not sure what Chelsea has to do with anything though.
15/04/2020 at 22:24
Can’t believe we’ve got this far down without anyone mentioning this one.

Love this. I still sing it to my daughter sometimes, even though she’s 16.

Seems to me this thread is more about interior design than good music.

Does anyone else hear a bit of Lionel Richie’s Hello in there, or is it just me?
Uncle Wheaty says
16/04/2020 at 17:20
Maybe in a couple of the slower moments there is a faint whiff of old Lionel.
But overall no!
16/04/2020 at 18:27
Phew – not just me then.
Yes – it was the slower bits that inspired the thought.
The Blues is basically one big plagiarism project anyway (isn’ it?)

Surely one of pop’s strangest videos?
16/04/2020 at 07:10
This thread is a bit like the Captain Tom Moore story that’s happening in the real world (the only difference being that it’s more about posting videos with the word “Blue” in them than donating millions to the NHS).

Warning! Warning! Steve you should go into isolation NOW!
This condition is highly contagious. Within hours, hundreds of AWers will have morphed into me. A thought too horrible to even contemplate.
16/04/2020 at 08:28
For someone who doesn’t particularly enjoy The Blues, it seems I have a lot of records with blue in the title. This was only a small smattering.

Its the new NHS Blue, to be accurate. It was either this or try to do something constructive. Think of it as virtual clapping.

Also, big thanks to GCU Grey Area for re-doing the original logo for us

Happy to help, but the one at the top of the page I’m seeing in my browser isn’t the one I sent!
18/04/2020 at 10:39
Are you on a tablet or phone. That’s still the old one so as not to take up more space on a smaller screen…and I haven’t got round to changing it yet!
18/04/2020 at 11:10
Neither! iMac, OS 10.14.6, Safari 13.1.
18/04/2020 at 11:44
Ah – retina screen? Dynamik Design handles those differently and I have to change the image
18/04/2020 at 12:05
Glad you mentioned that – I checked the iPad version and it looked crap. Hopefully now better. Still not sure why you wouldn’t be seeing the change, though?
18/04/2020 at 21:33
Er, half of the D at the end of Afterword and the “ure” of culture are missing on the right hand side of my iPad screen.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Android 7.0.
19/04/2020 at 08:24
Can you please make sure you’re looking at a refreshed page (i.e. close the page/browser completely and re-open.)
There WAS a version that cut the end off but it was only up for a few minutes and I’m looking at an iPad now that has the correct logo. Design changes like this are done live so if something doesn’t quite work, it’s still visible “live” until it’s changed again so if you happen across it at the wrong time you’d see it.
Let me know if its still different
19/04/2020 at 09:24
Seems to still be the same for me.
19/04/2020 at 14:25
I have just restarted my tablet and it’s still the same. It’s fine if I hold the tablet vertically, but it’s as dave says above when held horizontally.
19/04/2020 at 15:05
I’ve managed to replicate this now on the slightly smaller iPads (the 10.5 rather than the 11″)
No idea why its happening but should be able to sort it now
UPDATE – Should be sorted now
19/04/2020 at 16:32
This will show up in the wrong place, but it’s all ok now on android tablet. Thanks!

What are the chances? This song popped in to my head the other day for no apparent reason. Honestly haven’t heard it or thought about it for upwards of 30 years…the cassette of the album is in the loft.

Point of order re: Pathe’s caption.
Despite all the footage shown being from the Wembley FA Cup Final in 1970, the song was released in 1972 as part of the pre League Cup Final ‘hype’, which the Blues went on to lose 2-1 to Stoke City. Ironically, it was the start of a very long lean spell for the club.
I’ll get me (blue) coat.
19/04/2020 at 06:18
How about one of the boys in blue? Here’s the singing policeman from Oulu (aka Uleåborg!
PC Petrus Schroderus wanted to cheer up the people of Finland during the pandemic, so he sang this old Soviet classic translated into Finnish. Rakastan elämää (I love life). And what a set of pipes he has!
