Yeah I read that too but ultimately I couldn’t give a fig for either.
And to think, The Man encoded loads of my 1990s CDs with Copy Code Protect to prevent piracy. And all the while it was an inside job.
I see the logic and understood it, but had no sympathy at all. It was blatant theft and profiteering. Good read, thanks for the tip.
But it still pisses me off that the entire purpose of games consoles is to control the distribution and execution of the software, and that I can’t use that GameX for Xbox/PlayStation on anything other than that manufacturer and version/generation of device. Ooh, we made it obsolete and you can’t get any new games on it, oooohhh your old games don’t work on the new one…..screw you, buy it again. Any wonder there’s an underground ‘f*ck you’ to circumvent this.
