I’m rather hoping that the individual albums, especially the three early ones, get released in their own right.
They’ll be missing out on thirty sovs from Deram Towers if they’re not.
Considering? Yes.
Also considering how I can possibly get away with it without severe domestic scrutiny. Said scrutiny likely to end all music and book purchases for the rest of my life
Already pre-ordered although unlike amazon this lot take the cash straight away rather that waiting until dispatch. Not sure I can really afford it but I want it. Doesn’t feature everything but likely the only time we’ll see an A!ex box so I’m in. Pictures of the box make it look like John Martyn Island Years set so I am hopeful. Haven’t seen any reviews yet and not sure how easy it is to cancel a pre-order with udiscover should I need to.
I confess I am very keen on this – Alex Harvey was my earliest hero, and one of the strangest times was the build up to being older than he got to be, then being older than him.
I saw SAHB perform “Next” on the OGWT when I was about 11, and was transfixed, uplifted, and a little scared – a great combination! Many years later my band recorded a BBC Scotland TV show, and the engineer on the mix told me about that SAHB Session, which was day 3 of his employment at the BBC. They swaggered in, tested the BBC mikes sniffily, then discarded them with a roar “ROADIE!! Bring me the ROCK AND ROLL mike!!”. His roadie appeared with the (fairly new) Shure SM57, plugged it in. Alex sang, and the BBC sound guys clustered round to check it out, then placed an order for 10 of them.
When I heard this was going to be released I assumed that the scrapped ‘Vibrania’ album might appear, but it seems to have been overlooked.

If El Hombre Isn’t feeling a twitch in his wallet I’ll be a Dutchman’s uncle.
shall we call you Uncle Piet?

Or 2016. It will feel like the same thing.

Remaining hopeful.
I have too many of ole Alex’s twofers to be tempted but if a mate of mine will take them off my hands…hmmm!
Yep, same here, but the thought of it all in a nice box, man, its hard to say no.
