Something fishy I’ve been doing recently – putting the music to an old French film! I did it ages ago (badly) but have got it spot on and edited sweetly now and it will be playing in cinemas in UK before the end of the year. I originally played the score at The Big Chill, The Cube Cinema and other groovy screens – PM me for a download link to the film with the new score, it is 7gb but I assure you it’s worth it!

What’s the movie? My son did some Film classes at University and might be interested
The Garden of Atlantis maybe?
I did a bit of digging and discovered that you have all sorts of interesting stuff on Mixcloud
I also found your description of the Atlantis project.
This is the alternative soundtrack recorded for the Luc Besson’s movie ‘Atlantis’ 20 years ago, which I have played out live at The Big Chill, The Cube in Bristol and various other venues over the years. You can also start the mix from the beginning of the credits and enjoy an alternative soundtrack at home.
It all sounds very interesting, I am very intrigued about the idea of screening a film with an alternative soundtrack. Perfect for a music festival.
You should drop a line to the Roskilde Festival. It would be perfect for them.
Thanks for the kind words and yes you’ve found my original post about it. However I have a friend who is a film editor and we managed to put the audio timing down more accurately than I did when I recorded it live, so the audio/visual is much better now. When I did it at the big chill festival the marquee had about 20 folks sitting on the grass inside as it was about to start, the rain came and the tent was rammed! I was so nervous seeing so many people in front of me but it went really well and I was mobbed by hugging hippies (lol) afterwards which was so sweet. I’d happily show it again at another festival.
Great story @Gardner! No shortage of exquisite, hugging hippies at Roskilde. Eritrea to them!
Sounds very cool! Ou très branché comme tu veux.
I’ve PM’d you – would like to hear/see this!
on it’s merry way sir, thanks – no one else want one?
This is a terrific watch and listen! I’ve been lulled by waves and refracted water, calmed by dolphins, woken up by seals and penguins and marine iguanas and then calmed back down by manta rays and I’m less than half way through the journey. Grab it while you can folks.
Go on, then. If Foxy says it is good, who am I to argue?
