“The Foreign Films” is Bill Majoros, mostly, from out of Hamilton (Ontario?), and The Record Collector is a triple album project, of which two albums are complete.
I’m sort of staggered by this. There’s such a variety of styles, within the broad remit of pop music, with nothing descending into pastiche or “nods to.” He’s a songwriter, basically – individual songs with all the ingredients present and correct. And he can sing. And arrange and produce and play (or get played). I haven’t been able to find out anything much about him on the net (yet), but this is a jaw-dropping thing. His influences are there, but never intrusive, and he never loses his own voice.
It costs nothing to hear a sample, and as little as you like for the download.
