I don’t think its ‘Cheltenham’. I have the ITC version of this in my font library, and the upper-case ‘G’ in OGWT doesn’t match; the second shorter vertical stroke in Cheltenham’s ‘G’ has a bit sticking out (technical term!) which the above doesn’t.
It isn’t ‘Clarendon’ or ‘Century Schoolbook’ either, though its similar. A font called ‘Marlboro’ is close, but too condensed.
According to the handy font-identifying service at https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont , the OGWT font is a near-as-dammit match for Monotype Standard Bernard Condensed.
@Mikethep. Should that have been a full stop or was the comma appropriate?
Not with you, old boy.
This week Be Bop Deluxe.
I see…I like the comma myself. Not a full stop, anyway.
Thanks Mike.
Maybe a comma between Thanks and Mike? Like this:
Thanks, Mike.
that was in porpoise! I swear it was, you wanka!

Don’t confuse him.
I fought of all the old buggers here when I Curated that thread title.🙂
I don’t recognise it, sorry. It could be Cooper Black, possibly Souvenir? @GCU-Grey-Area is your go-to guy for fonts, I believe. Sorry again.
Fanks for the headz up!
Not Cooper Black or Souvenir – I remember this from Letraset days, but not its name.
GCU-Grey-Area is the “Knowledge of All Fonts” then?

I’ll see if I can match it.
Ooooh, fonts! Hooray!
Looks like a version of Cheltenham to me. I’ll post a link if I can find one.
I was also thinking Cheltenham
… but only because of that weekend you spent there.
Looks like Goudy Heavyface to me.
It does, but Goudy is rather vertically squashed IMO

This has been a public service announcement.
Think that’s it.
I’ve really been trying to remember this one, and I’m pretty sure it’s Monotype Standard Bernard Condensed.
And that’s why punk had to happen
Copper Black is the Pet Sounds font I think?
No idea if this is relevant to this thread, or indeed if anything is.
Yes, Cooper Black is the font on Pet Sounds.
Also used for the titles on ‘Dad’s Army’.
Sgt Wilson: “Are you sure that’s wise, Caroline?”
Don’t panic, put your head on my shoulder, Pike!
