Christmas is coming and more bands are getting in to the no doubt lucrative alcohol market with their own branded drinks.
Of course Dylan’s whisky has been around a while now as has Maiden’s Trooper beer (a fine pint) and earlier in the year we had Def Leppard’s Hysteria gin and another gin from Kiss. Now Skid Row have come up with 18 and Life gin and Midnight vodka.
Any others out there…even better have you sampled any of them?

I grabbed a of wine pretty much at random in M+S, a final one to take advantage of the 25% off when you buy 6 or more deal. It turned out to be a Kylie Minogue branded Merlot. Is was bloody awful.
Maybe you should’ve gone for the Motörhead Shiraz…

I bought a case of her Pinot Noir last year, still have most of the bottles. It’s actually very decent, and has won awards from the wine cognoscenti.
Her Merlot brand is no longer available.
What would the neighbours think?
Motorhead have a couple of whisky and a beer available
Ace Of Spades – Straight Bourbon
Iron Fist – Straight Bourbon & Rye
Motorhead Single Malt (Swedish Whisky)
Moterhead Rum
Motorhead Road Crew Pale Ale
all exceedingly passable
(not had the Rum though, so assuming it’s not as rough as a*seholes)
There’s also a decent lager ‘Overkill’, and at one time I seem to recall there was a bottled beer possibly called Bomber.
I wanted to try these but never found them, something about the lions’ titfers appealed.
Fairport brought a beer out in the eighties for one of the festivals but I only have the empty bottle.
Trooper is as nice as Iron Maiden’s music is unlistenable to me. I’m not usually a bitter drinker but if it’s on, I’ll always have a pint.
The range has been expanded, and there is even an Iron Maiden Good Beer Guide cover.

I don’t know one wine from another but I bought a bottle of Snoop’s ‘Cali’ Red and we liked it a lot. There’s now two bottles in the rack at home for Christmas. Did I read somewhere that Snoop is one of the biggest wine importers / exporters / producers??
I’d never heard of that, but he has just said that he is giving up weed.

@Gatz, Fake news! I must confess, I was a little discombobulated by his declaration, but happily for everyone it turns out the Dogg isn’t giving up weed at all. His announcement (“I’ve decided to give up smoke”) was merely an advert for his latest product collaboration: a smokeless fire pit.

I had a fine case of Marshall beer last Christmas, in a box finished like a 100w Marshall head.

I can vouch for Kiss ‘Cold Gin’ – very nice but at Navy Strength (40%) caution is advised!
I wonder what, if any, input bands have. I know Bruce Dickinson was closely involved with the creation of Trooper, but not sure if that applies to the likes of Queen, Quo etc.
Navy-strength gins are usually 55% or over? Most brands are 37.5-40%.
Good ‘ol Tanqueray is 41.3%.
Bellowhead had their own Hedonism craft ale available at the bar on their tour promoting their album of the same name.
The Tay Bridge Bar in Dundee sold Marra beer on draught for a bit, after Michael Marra. I remember the beer pump handle being sold at auction. Never tasted it though.
The Pogues quelle surprise have leant their name to a range of Irish whiskeys. I have had a bottle Of the single malt. Ok but no Dalwhinnie 15 yo.
Dalwhinnie 15 year ago or is my favourite
It’s encouraging to read that many artists allowing their name to be used by a tipple are making sure that the product is top quality.
Perhaps Nigel Blackwell should be having some meetings with McVitie?
Or failing that, Notting Hill pharmacists or the Buena Vista Social Club!
I suspect he’s less than impressed by a beer named after the band (even if you can really taste the hops).
It isn’t just massive acts. Gemma Cullingford (of Sink Ya Teeth) and poet Luke Wright had an EP and an IPA called FOMO, brewed by Iron Pier in Kent, and only available in Norwich.
I actually have a bottle of the Dylan whiskey that the kids bought me – it’s good, but I think it ought to be at the price.
Sir Roderick has one too….£35 a pop.

Shouldn’t this thread be called I am on the drinks?
Westlife’s “Four Stools” Stout is quite chewy.
They wear those long coats so you can’t see their stools.
I’ve just had a link to a distillery which has produced a Roy Wood gin.
At last, the explanation for that hair.
Not a distilled product, but another grain-based cash-in: Robert Forster’s Spring Grain muesli.
The gift that keeps on giving, Nic Jones’ Penguin Eggs.
Nic Jones’ Penguin Eggnog? @retropath2
So many lucrative opportunities :

For the Smiths fan in your life, how about buying a case of This Charming Man Grenache from the Thistledown Wine Company in South Australia?
