I concur. Picked up Once Upon a Time in America OST, Paris Texas, Dave Brubeck Greatest Hits and a TV Themes album with a brilliant long version of the Robinson Crusoe theme for one English Pound on Thursday.
Anyone else detect a touch of Johnathan Richman
(which has now inspired me to play my slightly battered copy of The Modern Lovers debut album (on vinyl – natch))
Twenty-something says something witty and (100 %) accurate.
We should have him stuffed.
On a serious note, when the medium becomes more important than the content, you’re in trouble. I’ve seen too many dodgers charge past James Brown/Sly Stone CDs (£1) in order to study carefully the condition of a Spandau Ballet Greatest Hits vinly (£15) for it to not be a grave concern.
Re the CD bit, the big drop in prices fell as exactly the right time for me getting the music bug again. I have bought so, so many over the past few years and, save for some of the more obscure underground stuff, it has all cost next to nothing. Of course, it means the bottom has fallen out of the market if you are trying to sell them, but that’s good timing too, as I had pretty much already got shut of the ones I no longer wanted. I look at the prices being charged for vinyl LPs nowadays and shake my head at the mugs who are rebuying the stuff they flogged. Even if it is ‘limited edition 180g vomit coloured vinyl’.

That’s most excellent! Ta muchly
That’s brilliant! I can definitely relate.
Great stuff, and no mention of cassettes, which is obviously right and proper.
Hoy!
That’s gold. In the markets it is called counter cyclical investing.
I’ve been counter cyclical investing like mad for the last couple of years in that case.
No you’d have reverted to cd’s Mini. The market has turned.
That’s what I meant. Scooping up used CDs like no tomorrow.
Just yesterday got Pink Moon, Five Leaves Left and Bryter Layter for pence. Happy days!

Buy now before the hipsters realise.
great record…great lyrics….
Yes.
At least the singer knows what they are – LPs not bloody vinyls!
Like it, and recognise “it”.

Recently re-released on lovely-sounding 180g, if you need an upgrade copy.
I enjoyed that a lot. There’s definitely a Richman influence, but it’s all done with such joyous, idiosyncratic panache that it seems a minor issue.
Jaffrey and his band seem to be having a lot of fun. Googled and discovered that he is also a comic book artist.

He’s one to watch!

He’s forty-three.
How many of us tragics were watching the clip going yeah got that , got that, ooh Jefferson Airplane- yeah got that too?
… though not as grave a concern as Obama’s Spotify playlist of 44 songs.
Yikes.
Trump must be delighted.
I havent seen that! Is it poor, or is it just the very notion is cringeworthy?
It’s perfectly fine, although perhaps not up to music knob, I mean snob, standards.
