As ever with these wretched boxes, it is just the one disc I would want, the electric Nebraska songs, not a bloody rough demo of BitUSA and innumerable lives.
Wretched is a collective adjective for any set that changes 1 LP into anything more than 1 CD. I stand my ground. Most people have the original and seldom play the new, so well do they already know it, other than to comment knowingly on the new mix, as it brings up the tom-toms/clavinet/singers sibilance more clearly. Alt versions, live cuts unusable for a live album back in the day and humourless asides before and after a fluffed demo? No, ta.
This set? Disc 1 and 2 please, and I bet you can squeeze ‘em onto one disc, if you tried, by just adding the outtakes to the Electric Nebraska selection, minus that vile power trio BitUSA.
Retro is absolutely 100% correct. Changing one LP into more than one CD is a crime. Once in a blue moon Take 43 is better than the one originally released. The other non blue moon times – “Hey there, wanna spend some money and remember when it was only you and your bedroom? I’ve got just the Special Edition for you !”

It is (relatively) inexpensive. I think it looks amazing. And Born in the USA is part of electric Nebraska.
* 38 quid for 4 CDs and a Blu-ray apparently in the UK
Ordered, unlike Mr Retro I’m looking forward to this “wretched box” 😃
Oh yes, that’s more like it! As @dai rightly says, £40 odd quid is a bit of a bargain!
Ordered too – very good value for this ‘wretched’box.

Mr Retro is winding us up

CD/Blu-ray set is 35 quid at amazon UK. The CDs are indeed very short, mirroring the vinyl exactly.
