To expand upon the above, I heartily recommend the following product:

Bose SoundLink Colour.
Have lived with said item for a couple of months now and can testify to its exceptional performance for the price point. Not particularly a looker I grant you, though in understated black it’s perfectly fine.
But the sound is better than it needs to be for a ton…

Bose gear is usually a touch expensive but of good quality. This is a pretty low price point for them, so very promising.
I have a couple of pairs of those PC speakers that were pretty much universal in the early days of PC sound, but these particular ones are Bose Mediamates, and were probably comparitively pricey when new (1997 – 2002). I spotted them in a skip on a office refurb job I was working on and liberated them, about 10 years ago. Never heard such good quality from this type of speaker before or since.
Yep, have found that their promise of bigger, better sound from a small package is more than fulfilled.
always one of my pet peeves. “Whatever. Worth one hundred pounds.” No. You mean costs one hundred pounds. I’ll decide if its worth it
ok. you decide. To be clear, my OP was meant to state my opinion that the Bose SoundLink Colour is good value at its price point of approx £100.
dougie, sorry if my remarks seemed personal. they were not aimed at you but at an all too common method of advertising. I assure you I am neither thick nor hostile and did know exactly what you meant
Don’t worry, Mr DougieJ, I’m sure most people who aren’t either thick or hostile knew exactly what you meant.
I clicked on the link and the cost is £119.95. See what you have done by mentioning it. Your fault it’s gone up.
I’ve got a Bose Soundlink Mini, costs 50 notes more, but boy is it good. Small, unobtrusive, top quality sound.
