For some while now (a couple of years, at least) I have been engineering recordings by my pals Sam and David of their “Disco-Prog-Punk” take on trad. folk songs.
This Friday the album will finally be launched at the Cambridge Folk Club, which will almost definitely be the loudest gig ever there.
Here’s their video for The Bitter Withy, a song about the football career of the infant Jesus.
@fentonsteve.
How excellent is that?’ A shame I’m not headed back to the Motherland this weekend,I’d divert off the Fen Arterial Freeway and pop in.
Vastly enjoyable! I look forward to hearing more.
It’s a great album (which was in my best of 2019). It has been completed for months, I didn’t realise it wasn’t actually released yet.
I’m adding that to my list, fentonsteve.
Did it remind anyone else of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition?
