      I made my position clear in my last post “ Hmm, joint lead, well it’s time someone else won it.” For your addled brain it means that I’m out, I’m not interested anymore. I have had enough of your trolling* of myself endlessly. When you are pulled up on this you come back with your “who me why would I do that” innocent childish excuses. Time and again you have done this and once again in my absence you persist in your obnoxious wittering.

      * You hide behind your keyboard in your self appointed head boy place on this forum, criticising anyone who holds a different view from yourself.       • So good you posted it twice? If you can show me one comment where I have trolled you, I’ll apologise. Taken the gentle piss, poked fun, pulled your incredibly small willie – guilty as charged.
        One thing I will apologise for is thinking you had finally realised what Chiz had been doing earlier in the round as well as his previous comment re Lance, Ben, Diego and the Chicago White Sox. Harmless fun which sailed over your head whilst you were too busy taking offence at me.
        As for your ridiculous assertion “criticising anyone who holds a different view” , how many times have I argued on here that in the pub it’s all about different points of view ? Nobody is right and certainly nobody is Wrong (except for Gary and his worship of Pink Floyd).

  161. Congratulations to @mikethep on his fine victory in Edition IV of The Wordle Golf Tournament.

    After a consultation with my caddy and Fan Club Secretary I have decided to return to Edition V.

    I have also had a word with Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood regarding barracking and bad sportsmanship. Basically they said ignore the cnuts. I will.

      • I’m trying to be a Big Grown Up here, it’s only an essentially trivial game hidden away in an obscure corner of the internet, but if everyone on this thread is happy to welcome Baron back then it’s goodbye from me.
        My hands are in the air – I overstepped the mark with my “humourous” teasing of Baron’s constantly low scores.
        When Chiz openly “cheated” I admit I laughed out loud. Harmless fun but, as usual with Chiz, very clever fun.
        Then came Baron’s abusive tirades, capital letters and all. The Mods banned Bri for similar nonsense but not a peep this time round. I invite you to scroll upwards and read those rants again. If they don’t break Our Rules re personal abuse and politeness, I don’t know what does. Just plain Wrong.
        It’s also clear I’m not very good at Wordle.
        Peace, love and keep the birdies rolling in.

        • I can see the dilemma here. Calling us cnuts while magnanimously agreeing to return. But look – let’s just let it go, shall we? I’ll try not to use my mind-reading powers for personal gain, and you can keep your suspicions about Baron’s supernatural skill at five-letter word games to yourself.

          • Exactly this. How about we have a new no-bantz rule that nobody comments on another’s scores, performance, whatever. We can of course be as snarky as we like about our own performance, but otherwise we’ll be playing in a bubble like all top golfers.

            • We all know how easy it is here on the internet to take things the wrong way and jokes & digs can so easily be misinterpreted as personal attacks. No such problem with The Baron’s words above.

              I’ll compare scores each morning with my wife (although I strongly suspect by the number of eagles and birdies she posts that something fishy is going on there) and leave you lot to it.

  162. I tried to get clever-clever and ended up very stupid-stupid. Sorry I didn’t make it to the 19th. I’d bust my shoulder snapping my clubs and pulled a hammy when I kicked my caddy up the bum!

    Please fellow Wordlers when you take up his invitation to look further up this thread please take note that my comments have always been reactions to his insidious remarks. Did I go over the top, yes of course I did but only after I’d had enough of his not very subtle what he calls ‘humour’. This behaviour from him as not been just over the last 3 months, it has gone on for over 2 years.

    Now he has the audacity to call on Admin to ban me. He need not have done that because I was sick of his behaviour and was about to exile myself from this place. Since his call to ban me there is no way I’m going. I am not being driven away by the likes of him.

    @chiz I don’t know why you have assumed any comments I’ve made were directed at you. I have not made any comments naming you nor have I commented on your, err comments.

    Wrongness you assume that I was referring to ‘us’ wrong your Wrongness I was referring to ‘you’.

    Regarding Bri who I hold in high esteem, now there was a guy who was able to use is humour in entertaining and profound ways unlike you Wrongness.

    What I intend to do is to contact you Lodestone Of Wrongness if you agree and maybe we can sort this out. The ball, as they say is in your court.

    • Last comment on this silly mess, I promise, before I take a break from this place.
      At no point did I ask for Baron to be banned. Usually when the mark has been overstepped and things get personal,
      (and boy did Baron get personal), The Mods step in with a quiet word or even remove the offensive (and boy were Baron’s remarks offensive) remarks. Not a peep.
      Sorry that Mikep , and no doubt, the rest of you Wordlers, is (rightly) pissed off but despite repeatedly telling myself it’s only a game and in the greater scheme of things none of this matters a single jot I felt I had no alternative but to throw my toys out of the pram. I liked my toys.

  167. We’ve been late picking this up, primarily because even Mods draw the line at looking at Wordle threads (unless you do Wordle of course) but can we please just ask everyone to quit the personal sniping.

    Its not big or clever and, seriously and far more importantly, pisses off other people not involved. As we’ve said recently, the vast majority of people who come to the Afterword never comment or post and any sort of personal bickering just makes that less likely to happen. The last thing Mods want is to be forced to get off their luxury mattresses to deal with this sort of stuff and definitely don’t want to be forced to start taking any action beyond a mild rebuke so please leave it out.
