Ahead of a gig in Thornton Hough with family in attendance singer songwriter Kathryn Williams sits down to talk box sets – her 20 year spanning Anthology flying off the merch table like so many hot Kiplings. The excited hubbub is audible as we discuss covers, working with Neill MacColl (who makes an extended cameo appearance), outtakes and demos plus her tour and future projects

Haven’t listened to this yet..will do.
The box set is a thing of beauty and well worth the investment IMHO..
She was fantastic at Daylight Music last week, with her squad of mates and those she was kind enough to promote..There’s some video due which I’ll post up at some juncture.

That was delightful. Lovely to have the music clips too. I will definitely put the Anthology Box Set on my Christmas wishlist – great to hear too she has a couple of new albums in the pipeline, as well as the collaboration with Michele.

When they’re gone they’re gone, and Kathryn has said she hopes to sell out of them. That could be marketing talk, but I hope she does as she really stuck her neck out to produce it. And @nogbad is right, the Daylight Music show last Saturday was wonderful.

Yep it’s a single run thing and she’s doing brisk business on tour to the point she had to send out for extra boxes in Birmingham.
So pleased for her and One Little Indian for having faith in their artists

Thanks for letting me know – am in a Christmas mood at the moment (see future post on Blogger) so will get my set before they all go.

It is a wonderful release – for me the best archive release so far this year. Haven’t had chance to listen to the podcast yet but hope to do so on a trip down to London tomorrow.

Thornton Hough?! There’s somewhere I never expected to see on any gig guide. Hoping to see her in Liverpool next week.

Bloody Barton. It’s only on the other side of the Bridge, but if you don’t have a car it might as well be on Mars.
I’ll lean out of my window with an ear-trumpet and hope for the best.

Despite living only a few miles away, I’ve never been to a gig at Komedia. Is it any good? Anyone know?
retropath2 says
It looks tiny from the outside (as if that is any help) Deep in North Laine.
Neilo says
Any shows planned outside the UK, DfB? I know I could search for this myself but you’re the right man to ask for the straight dope
Neela says
Really enjoyed this chat! She reminds me of Sweden’s own Anna Ternheim. Their voices are weirdly similar.

Nice chat and, apart from anything else, a reminder to get my lazy arse into gear and order myself a copy.
