I’m worried that it happened while I was trying to post yesterday’s Wordle, so if it was something I did – abject apologies, mods. And thanks!
It was the millionth Wordle post. All sites are set to self destruct at that point ….
Is this the place where I say that I have literally no idea what those Wordle threads are all about? I am aware of the game but without actual words and letters, those grid things are just annoyingly strange. Is this an Aki Streeter art project?

I always assumed they were some kind of Mornington Crescent-style game.
I think that if the coloured squares are correctly arranged they will reveal a picture of Gerry Rafferty.

Assuming you are actually interested. The grids show how a player went without showing actual letters. It shows the position of a correct letter in the right place and correct letter but in the wrong place. We post that template each day of our comp as bona fide evidence of one’s effort.
There is a lot of trust and beyond that Lodes scrutinises matters most rigorously.
Our golf tournament starts on the first of the month and runs for 18 days , that being the same number as holes on a golf course. The words you put in attempting to work out each count as a shot. 4 attempts is regarded as par.
The winner is the player with least shots over the total 18 holes.
The winner is the winner and bottom place getter gets spoonie. One of those honours currently belongs to me.

I’ve been getting 404 errors on the site for months. Not sure if that was connected to yesterday’s issues, but good to have the site back.

I’\ve been having that problem, too. Not sure if it’s the fact I’m using a
Mac running on Sonoma 14.6
I’ve mentioned this elsewhere, but I get 404s if I’ve got the VPN fired up.
I have now forgotten the brilliant reply I had in mind for a post I now can’t remember. But hats 🎩🎩🎩 for the mods!
