I agree a great band but the new album has got truly awful reviews. Haven’t heard and can’t comment but I didn’t think that much of the Mad Dogs and Englishman album either.
Their earlier stuff is superb and the Derek Trucks solo albums.
Reviews? Make your own decisions.
Their version of Mad Dogs and Englishmen is pretty good.

I heard them live in Sydney a few years ago. Loved them I especially liked that Derek played the same guitar the whole night!
Superb! The two drummers together made such a groove…
That was terrific, and I am not that much a fan of the more anthemic polemic side of Sly Stone.
