Haven’t seen this posted here, might be of interest to some. Silver Seas guy has done an EP with Burt, and if it’s all as good as this I’ll be a happy punter for one.

Musings on the byways of popular culture

Thanks for posting, this sounds fab, is right up my street – I will investigate. I loved the work Daniel Tashian did with A Girl Called Eddy’s recent album too. (And of course Burt is a legend).
Feedback_File says
Daniel is on a bit of a solid gold run following his work on the Girl Called Eddy album.
Kaisfatdad says
That is smashing! Burt can always be relied upon and Daniel T seems to be an excellent foil to him.
Dan’s a versatile chap. He also does music for kids.
Bamber says
Thanks for this @Kaisfatdad I’m a big Silver Seas fan and I didn’t know this existed. Initial feedback from my 5, 3 and 1 year old was very positive.
Kaisfatdad says
Delighted to hear that @Bamber.
Writing songs that kids will enjoy is no small art, even fr a very accomplished songwriter.
At a preposterous tangent, here is a song that my sprogs loved when they were younger.

Very classy stuff.
The sort of song and arrangement that could be from any era between the mid ’60s and right now.
Vulpes Vulpes says
That is so effortlessly Burt and so perfectly Daniel – what a fit they are.
Personally, I don’t do downloads, so I’ll wait for this to show up on a physical artefact, but you’ve also brought the Girl Called Eddy album to my notice, which I’ve now just bought – so thanks for that heads-up. I have her first album, and it was so long ago that I got it, I assumed she’d changed career!
Carolina says
It was a very long wait, and quite a surprise to suddenly hear she has made a 2nd, but worth it. The first track on the album sort of addresses it, “Been Around.” A voice says at the beginning, “Girl where you’ve been?” and the rest of the song flows on in answer.
monsignorbonehead says
Yeah, a smashing album. These things are very rarely worth the wait; this one is.

She was also half of duo The Last Detail, their album came out a year or so ago, and I was a bit underwhelmed. So imagine my delight when the second AGCE album turned out to be a cracker.
Ainsley says
Bought the GCE album on the back of these recommendations (and the fact that just about everything Tashian is involved in is fab) and it’s tremendous. Ta.
Mrbellows says
I’m not convinced by the fellow’s voice. Seems a little fey.
