Is the Wiki claim true, that wrestler Mick McManus co-wrote Silver Machine? Really??? And have any other top TV grapplers made forays into the rock world?

Adrian Street made some singles that can be found on a collection called Shake Wrestle and Roll.
If I remember correctly Luke Haines wrote an article about Streets recording career in Record Collector and of course had Street on the cover of Black Box Recorders – England Made Me

Brian “Goldbelt” Maxine was special guest on the Fairport Convention tour in 1975, they having been his backing band for all his hits, returning for a later Cropredy.
I met boot-polish coiffed McManus for a feature about 70s wrestling I wrote for a sports magazine in the mid-90s. Former Word man John Naughton and I were chatting about it only the other week at the funeral of fellow sports mag staffer, and occasional blogger here, Richard Lowe.
I remember Richard, one of the early gang on the original blog. He took me to task once for referring to the Beach Boys as surf music (it was in jest, I was channelling Jimi). Another one gone. RIP
