I’d say the vast majority are just re-issues that were in the works anyway, and badged as RSD releases purely to give them an extra marketing push. Multiple re-releases from the same artist (hello Pulp, Bruce Springsteen, Wedding Present, Hawkwind) a lot of which you can second hand originals of in most 2nd hand stores any day of the week for £5.
