And when our Man in Monopoli mentions a film, I always take note. @Gary has a very good track record. A month or so back, he mentioned that there was a new Italian film that everyone was talking about. He was right about that. Five million people in Italy flocked to the cinema to see Paola Cortellesi’s C’e ancora domani (There’s still tomorrow).And it broke all box-office records. On Sunday evening I saw it here at Bio Reflexen in Kärrtorp.
Paola Cortellesi is pretty unknown here in Sweden and the rest of Europe too I suspect. But as an actress, singer, comedian and TV personality, she is a household name in Italy. This is the first film she has directed. It’s no small achievement to make a very honest film about domestic violence which is not only upsetting but also very amusing and ultimately very uplifting.
