Attention, please, from anyone interested in a casual Glasgow Mingle (with a Bona Fide International Guest). Sal Warpe of the Bonn parish is in town, and would like to meet up with whoever is available. I suggest Saturday 6th – late afternoon for beers and blethers with the option of food and record shopping.
How about starting in Mono (which includes a bar, a great range of food and a record shop) and then moving on to the Laurieston ?

Mr James Blast, formerly of this parish, is commemorated in an appropriate way by the release of a new album on Bandcamp. This work has been undertaken by his dear friend Raf.

Today, the day of this album’s release, marks what should have been the 60th birthday of one of the best friends I’ve ever had, a Glaswegian who identified himself as James Blaast!™. Yes, with the exclamation point and the trademark symbol included. He was the one who bestowed the ‘Prog Goth’ label on Ahràyeph first. James died unexpectedly two days after his 58th birthday, which was the day we had last spoken. I even played ‘Happy Birthday’ on my guitar for him while Facetiming, which made him laugh. After a slew of medical mishaps, none of which contributed to his sudden death, he was happy and content. He hadn’t always been, as will be evidenced in some of the songs you’ll find on this release.
Raf invited me to contribute, so I make some noise on it too.
Let’s gather in the Aspidistra and Hatstand (under his glorious sign) and remember the great contrarian.
