This evening the Nordic region gets seriously pagan as we welcome the month of May with bonfires, choirs, local rock bands and a gallon or two of vodka .

Any excuse to post this clip of Ranarim singing a traditional Maytime song out in the Stockholm archipelago. No wonder they are clapping. It’s still pretty nippy.

In Oxford they sing in May on the tower of Magdalene College.

In Helsinki they all don white student hats and the whole city becomes an enormous outdoor party.

And I’m sure my Scandophile pal Moose has some interesting plans for his Maypole.
