For some reason I have suddenly been bombarded with what you might call Cyrillic vids on YT, with occasional diversions into North Korea, a lot of which are rather good fun. No reason to keep them to myself. So…
ATM – HDMI splitters
Mrs thep has a tech question I can’t answer – partly because it’s Windows and partly because the internet gets bored before I’ve even finished typing the question and tries to sell me an HDMI splitter.
So: the Mem is setting up two monitors on her home office desk, but the docking station has only one HDMI out. A splitter is the obvious answer, but her supplementary question is: will she end up with the same thing on both monitors, in which case there’s no point, or can you shuffle stuff between them on the laptop screen, as I vaguely remember doing when my MacBook was plugged into a monitor?
Info gratefully received.
Jimmy Pursey – is he value for money?
Jimmy Pursey seems to spend most of time on stage these days (with one of the versions of Sham 69) inviting fans to sing his songs. When he does occasionally sing, it doesn’t seem to be very good. Do we finally have to face the truth – that Jimmy’s not that great?
Days of the old school yard
Watching Pointless the other day two of the answers were Sir Titus Salt and Joseph Priestley. The odd thing was they both went to my old school (obviously not at the same time as me or even each other).
Reading the biography of Al Bowlly I also found out that Ray Noble the bandleader also attended Dulwich College I have previously mentioned that P G Wodehouse and Raymond Chandler also went there.
So were you at school with someone who went on to fame and fortune or even noteriety?
Stumbled Upon.
I was looking for Brazilian Electronica for KFDs thread and saw a name of a duo who turned out to be Argentinian. I discovered they’d put up some free tracks on the Free Music Archive Site and I started exploring there. Found this under “Jazz” which it almost entirely isn’t, but nevertheless I found myself listening to the whole thing, which if it was a vinyl album would probably be a 4-disc box. My attention wandered at times, but nevertheless there was enough interesting stuff to make it very worthwhile, I thought. Of course you might disagree and call it a right old load of cobblers. Such is your right.
