Midnight Sky DOA scifi clunker from Clooney. After 30 minutes the entire rest of the film is crushingly obvious. A combination of lazy plotting that appears to rip off Wall-E, Clooney’s Old Man and the Ice act, and a perky mute girl who appears to rassle grandpa out of his grumpiness while they face a series of barriers to save… oh it’s just lazy, dull and obvious. Do the producers expect us to believe that a mother who is part of the final exodus of all humanity from earth would leave her 8-year old behind because she believed the ‘I think she went ahead on the ship in front of us’ line. Baled after 30 minutes.
