Physical release label (and shop) Last Night From Glasgow have remastered the Trashcan Sinatras’ debut album, Cake. It only made number 74 when released by Go! Discs in 1990, and was then out of print for decades.
Midweek album charts have it at number 10, wedged between Elton John and Taylor Swift.

I do love a good nickname.
Tricky Dicky. Fab Macca Whacky Thumbs Aloft. Thatcher Thatcher – Milk Snatcher.
Especially when it is one that sticks and annoys the hell out of the person it refers to. Or in this case their partner.
So I was delighted this evening to hear that the First Fiancée has landed herself the nickname CarrieAntoinette due to her elaborate plans for the makeover of their Downing Street flat.
In Sweden a politician would win votes by mentioning that they can assemble a piece of IKEA furniture.
Boris, by contrast, doesn’t know his Allen Key from his elbow. And is ordering wallpaper that costs 840 quid a roll!
This is, of course, all very trivial compared to comments he has allegedly made. And many things he has done
But that nickname is a doozy!

Noel “Tidybeard” Edmonds says that we need not fear death, AIDS or Ebola but Electro Smog. The former vocalist with JWBAWH Brown Sauce echoes the XTC line that we are all light and who can forget his heartfelt message to Andy Partridge after the abandoned European tour in 82 on Multicoloured Swap Shop.
But still the electro smog DJs are dropping dope phat beats that are sending the yoof crazy.
He’ll be warning us about damaging our shatner’s bassoon next
